New Year Reflection

New Year is a chance for reflection, and looking forward at what the next year involves. Sometimes that involves hard truths…

Hi! I’m Lucy! I’m the owner of Puffin Cove, and a Princes Ris resident. Puffin was born as a result of wishing there was more around here for us parents, and more around here with decent coffee for us parents!

Puffin opened in September 2024 and I am so proud of what I’ve created. 14 Duke Street was a shell. It is now a gorgeous, cosy space that so many of you come to every week and your reviews make me glow with pride and happiness: you’re enjoying the moment to sit and enjoy calm and good coffee, able to see your little(s) happy. I’ve created exactly what I set out to.

But the Hard Truth…

The biggest opportunities for Puffin Cove’s next stage of growth need someone with creativity and a passion for marketing (whether it’s learning it from scratch or using existing skills). That sits WELL outside my introverted personality’s “sweet spot” (in case you hadn’t already noticed through the marketing content coming from Puffin 😉)! I’ve also hit what it turns out is a familiar founder’s trap and struggling to clearly see the next steps having been in the trenches.

I am so proud of Puffin, and don’t want to hold it back! So I’m exploring whether there is someone better suited to take Puffin Cove on by putting Puffin up for sale. This is exploratory, so we’re still open as usual and nothing day-to-day changing. Do still come and visit us!

If you’re intrigued, maybe fancy your own business, being your own boss, totally controlling your own schedule, do check out our listing on rightbiz.co.uk and drop me an email (hello@puffin-cove.co.uk).

Here’s to an exciting 2026!
